Golden Lake Retrievers

Welcome....

Located on the shores of Lake Norman is Mooresville, North Carolina, we 
first became involved in golden retrievers when we purchased our first dog, a lovely male named Duncan in 1988. We fell in love with the beautiful breed and easy going temperament and immediately knew Duncan wouldn’t be our last golden retriever.

In 2011, we added our lovely Cooper to the family who we acquired from a local North Carolina breeder. Both Duncan and Cooper have since crossed the rainbow bridge and they are both missed to this day.

In 2013, we acquired our first female golden from a breeder in Virginia named Maggie. Maggie was our foundation dog and she went on to compete in conformation, obedience and other dog sports. In 2024 Maggie developed an infection following routine surgery and we ended up losing her due to liver failure just shy of her 11th birthday. During her lifetime, she became a mother to spectacular, large litters of puppies. She left her legacy on our breeding program.

Our dogs are first and foremost family pets, reside in our home and sleep 
in our bed. All of the litters of puppies we have raised have been raised in 
our home and become members of the family. 
 

We expect to have a new litter of puppies during spring of 2026. Motherhood has been passed down the line and Maggie’s granddaughter  Poppy has taken on the role of Mom.
